The people depicted include a drug and charm seller, domestic Hindu workers, musicians and dancers and other Indian people – Some with light fading edges, otherwise in good to very good condition.

These intriguing portraits include an ascetic during Kumbh Mela, a warrior, a snake charmer, a group of fakirs, a Brahmin during a Puja ceremony, a Shiva ascetic, body piercing for hook suspension and many others. – A few faded/time-stained in edges, some handling marks, otherwise most in good condition.

The views include the Taj Mahal; the Kashmiri Gate, Delhi; Old Bridge on the Mar Canal (1864) and the Cenotaph of Mumtaz Mahal. – Some with minimal surface soiling/rubbing, some buckling, one print (Taj Mahal) with small tear in upper edge (ca 1 cm), otherwise most in good to very good condition.

The German photographer Frederick Fiebig took photographs of China, Burma and India between 1849 - 1853. The British Library lists 489 of his photographs taken between 1850-1853 in Calcutta and surroundings. The print offered here is not listed and his uncolored salt prints are rare on the art market. – Faded in upper and right edges, small backed tear in upper right corner, otherwise in good condition.
